I asked, "Do you know What great nations should do to achieve worldwide peace? I want to redefine the roles of the great nation." These are response I have got so far. Please add more if you want.
*************************
Rock: In the Future, a nation's greatness will be measured in it's ability to feed, clothe, house, and provide health care for it's citizens and the citizens of other nations... In that day, they shall beat their swords into plows...
Scott: A great nation is one that empowers it's people to achieve personal liberties, encourage free enterprise and reduce dependency on a government instead of enslaving it's people by means of welfare and handouts. A great nation is one that limits it's government and it's scope of authority.
Yoonok: To me, A great nation should treat all the people equally n fairly no matter whether those are it's own citizens or not. All the living beings are deserved to be loved and respected. Because we are human...Because we are all beautiful!
Scott: Such kindness could be our demise....
Yoonok: I see many nations going the other sides of worldwide peace and take over others instead of peace keeping. To me, these acts are against worldwide peace and against my happy flower. This is also against the dream of us being one family.I... see many nations, dropping bombs in foreign soil.I see some Greedy countries are having war preparations and war promotions. I believe that those are crimes against the worldwide peace.Killing innocents has no justification! Dropping bombings on innocents has no justification!
Scott: You won't find anyone more against war than those that have been there... Vote the clowns out of office.
Yoonok: Yes, my grandma was there more than 40 years of her life..killings...bombings...setting fires in the house when live people were inside. My dad was there so as my mom. Who will rebuild the one once you destroyed by either bombing or killing? Who will rebuild?
Scott: The victor should he choose too.
Yoonok: The Victor, who? You mean The Victor from one of the two super powers, who cut my country into two--North Korea n South Korea. That split caused more than 60k American young blood besides countless Chinese n Korean casualty.
Scott: Yes
Scott: Not justifying anything. It's sad to see this stuff happen. But YES, the Americans did rebuild quite a bit of South Korea after major combat operations. Almost 900 millions dollars if I remember.....Anyway... We're off point. What defines ...a great nation? One that helps one country and in turn destroys another? When a countries people fail to resist the will or strength of another have they lost their spirit? Perhaps we could define a victor as anyone that has resisted hostile forces on their grounds to prevent it's people from experiencing such violence firstt hand. Perhaps the Koreans failed to defend their own land and it was that reason your family endured such hardships.... Was that experience a lesson learned for others? Do you think a foreign army could survive in the United States? It wont be rose petals and hugs that drive an unwelcome enemy from our land. It will be men with guns..... Violence is horrible, but I would rather see most of it on the news in outher lands then see it here on the soil of the united states.... Yoonok, do you feel that peace is a realistic expectation? Do you really think that 7 billion people stuffed onto a small planet with limited resources, crazy religions, covered almost entirely by undrinkable water is the recipe to peace? Peace needed to be planned out a long time ago, but it wasn't.
Sally: A VERY IMPORTANT AND GOOD, BUT VERY SCARY QUESTION-PLEASE ACCEPT MY HEARTFELT APOLOGY FOR YOU LOSSES- LET US PRAY THAT THE REBUILDING IS DONE BY CARING PEOPLE- AND THIS BEGINS SOON - MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU AND YOURS- FROM SALLY
Scott: Instead of praying that nice people will help victims now, I will hold out HOPE that people will not allow themselves to be enslaved. I will hold out hope that young men from all over the world will not have to converge on a particular country and fight a thriving evil on behalf of a week populace..... Weekness encourages a cunning enemey.... When we do we stop fighting? Do we ignore these problems? Do we fight them? Radical Islam for example.... If ignored would their quest for Jihad end? If we continue the fight against them can we win? THey kill without regard to who you are or hwo you feel. If you are not one of them, you are considered an Infidel..... Your thoughts?
Sally: AMEN AND AMEN--YES-I AGREE= PRAYER HELPS BUT TO MAKE IT REAL, THE ACTIONS ARE UP TO US AS HUMAN BEINGS
Sally: H SCOTT-I WISH I HAD AN ANSWER-NONVOILENCE TAKES REAL STRENGH- IT CAN BE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE AT TIMES-- HOWEVER, IN ALL HONESTY,IF MY HOME WERE DESTROYED, MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY INJURED OR KILLED, I HONESTLY DO NOT KNOW IF I HAVE THE KIND OF... STRENGH AND WISDOM IT WOULD TAKE TO PRACITSE NON VOILENCE--I WOULD HOPE I WOULD HAVE THE INNER FAITH AND COURAGE TO TRY, BUT I AM NOT SURE IF I COULD RESTRAIN MY OWN INNER VOILENCE AS IT SURFACES AS A REACTION AND DEFENSE OF AGIANST SOME ELSES SENSELSS AND CRUEL VOILENCE- TO PRACTISE NONVOILENCE IN A DEMONSTRATION I HAVE DONE-- I HAD TO JUST KEEP WALKING , BECAUSE TO NOT TO DO SO COULD MEAN DISASTER TO MYSELF AS WELL AS THOSE I AM MARCHING WITH--ON THE HOME FRONT, THOI TEND TO BE MORE EMOTIONAL--AND PROTECTIVE OF MY FAMILY--AS FAR AS ISLAM IS CONCERNED,IF THIS IS TRUE- ISLAM SOUNDS ALOT LIKE THE EARLY CATHOLIC CHURCH- WHO KILLED, AND OR ,ENSLAVED THOSE WHO DID NOT CONVERT-- [USUALLY THE AMERICAN INDIAN-]SADLY, THIS IS AN UNDISPUTBLE FACT OF AMERICAN HISTORY= AND SADLY CHRISTIAN HISTORY-OFTEN,THE PREISTS, AND MINISTERS, OF AN ORGANIZED RELIGON ,IN THEIR NEED TO CONTROL [FOR EITHER EMOTIOAL OR ECONOMIC REASONS], DESTROY ALL POSITIVE, GOOD TEACHINGS OF THE RELIGON BY TRYING TO FORCE BELIEF ON OTHERS- THIS APPLYS ALLORGANIZED RELIGONS, WEATHER THEY BARE ISLAM, CHRISTIAN OR JEW- THAT IS A CRUEL WASTE- - I WILL CONTINUE TO TO PRAY OTHERS AND FOR PEACE- I BEILEIVE THAT THE `CREATOR`GOES BY MANY DIFFERENT NAMES-- WHO AM I JUDGE ANY WHO USES A DIFFERENT NAME THAN I DO?- I BELIEVE HE HEARS US ALL- WE ARE ALL HIS CHILDREN, EVEN THO WE MAY HAVE DIFFERENT NAMES FOR HIM AND DIFFERENT PERCEPTIONS OF HIS LAWS--OUR` CREATOR`, OR GOD, MUST BE AS HEARTBROKEN AS A MOTHER WHOSE CHILDREN QUARREL ARROGANTLY, AND JEALOUSLY ABOUT HER HOUSEHOLD RULES AND TEACHINGS, EACH BELEIVING THE OTHER TO BE IN ERROR, OR IGNORANT,OR WRONG--- FROM SALLY
Yoonok: Scott said: "But YES, the Americans did rebuild quite a bit of South Korea after major combat operations. Almost 900 millions dollars if I remember...."
Yes, Scott, you are right! Americans did rebuild quite a bit of South Korea....large sum of some millions dollars mostly going into building military base for us to fight with our own brothers n sisters of North Korea and against Communism in the soil of South Korea. ...NOT in the soil of the united states....but in the soil of South Korea..my birth land.
Yoonok: Yes, the Koreans failed to defend our own land and going through unimaginable hardships...
Our Korean ancestors lived at a land based cultures...planting crops n developing storage of harvest n worshiping the nature n following Moon movement... for ceremonies. Yes, we did not have much possession of weapons n it's development. We had civil servant exams based on philosophical knowledge n literature. We did not know how to fight well with people with guns n bombs. Yes, that's why Koreans failed. For the 36 years of the Japanese Occupation of Korea (1910-1945), thousands of Koreans, including several members of my extended family, were raped, tortured and slaughtered by the Japanese until America ended the war with the dropping of the two atomic bombs.
Upon Japanese unconditional surrender in 1945, without our involvement, an agreement was reached between the United States and the Soviet Union for the division of Korea. The United States occupied South Korea and the Soviet Union occupied North Korea. This resulted 'The Korean War'. Many Chinese and American soldiers died in addition to the countless Koreans casualties.
After having a prolonged treacherous fighting for three years and one month, it ended on July 27, 1953 without the signing of a peace treaty. We are still at war with help of America.
Scott: 50 years of American presence has allowed South Koreas economy to expand. That can't be denied. Perhaps an American presence ( That South Korea agreed to) is all that protects those left in South Korea from the North.....
Yoonok: I will not deny...see the below. Please see my points here: cut one country into two...helping fight each other. Is this Great nation do? Also if you have time, read my note on American military and North Korean's nuclear threading?
South Korea: Population - 48,636,068Gross Domestic Product: $1.364 trillion ($28,045.00 per capita)Life Expectancy: 78.81 yearsInfant Mortality Rate: 4.24 per 1,000Literacy: 98%Government: RepublicDefense Expenditure as a pct. of GDP: 2.5%
North Korea:Population - 24.05 millionGross Domestic Product: $24.8 billion ($1,800 per capita)Life Expectancy: 61.23 years (men)Infant Mortality Rate: 51.34 per 1,000Literacy: 99%Government: Centralized Communist DictatorshipDefense Expenditure as a pct. of GDP: at least 25%
Yoonok: There is a proverb in Korea about shrimps and whales. The little shrimps' back get broken, when whales are fighting. Korea is the little shrimp while the US, Russia, China, and Japan are the whales. Korea's back was broken in half into North and South. Whales either cover it up or erase history: the little shrimps with broken back are crying for their families, unbearable anguish, and the hope for the reunification of the two Korea. Divided in two always made us the victim country. On Korean Thanksgiving day and New Years' day, some Koreans travel as far as they legally can within the DMZ. Facing to the North, they bowed down to the ground in front of the food-laden table and using chopstick, tossed some food to the North. This is where they left their families and where their hope to see them again. They cry in the DMZ longing for the family in the other Korea.
No matter how many different views I can think of, one thing never change— without our involvement, the Korean peninsula was split between the US and Russia in 1945 at the 38th parallel. Koreans have been suffering for years from the psychological impact of the War, which can be as destructive as actual wartime experience. The people who witnessed the slaughtering were transformed. During the Japanese Occupation of Korea (1910-1945), the Korean War (1950-1953), and the Post-War period (1953-present), my mother, my father, and my grandmother went through unimaginable suffering and had to endure unimaginable atrocities: having their bodies, their lands, and their souls violated by multiple wars. Even though they were all died physically, they live within me through their stories and my memory that we have shared together.
Scott: We could cut S Korea in two ( like South Korea wanted) ir North Korea can kill off the south. I'm all for the US leaving and seeing how well the south can handle themselves. Let's let them settle it once and for all without American intervention.
Sally: THANKS YOONOK, FOR THE HISTORY LESSON - IT IS TRUE--WHEN WHALES FIGHT THE SHRIMP DIES--THIS IS SAD- I SEND YOU MY STRONGEST THOUGHTS [PRAYERS]FORA HEALING OF YOUR NATION AND ITS PEOPLE, AS WELL AS FOR THE FIGHTING NATIONS - SENDING YOU S...MILES- SALLY
Sally: SHOULD I FIND MYSELF IN YOUR POSITION, I HOPE I HAVE THE COURAGE YOU HAVE SHOWN-- YOU ARE ONE VERY BRAVE LADY-- I AM HONORED TO BE YOUR FRIEND- FROM SALLY
Yoonok: I want to share the story of My Grandma, who died at the age of 86.My Grandma converted her resentment into compassion despite suffering n despite lost everything!
At the age of 13, My Grandma witnessed Greedy people set the fire at her hou...se when her parents were inside live. Greedy people took her only brother, who never came home. She lost everything and became orphan! But she lived with “wait and hope” through multiple wars and violence. Later, she lost a lot more. But she was always waiting for her ‘Spring’ to come so that she could spread it all over. When I was a little girl, every day, my grandma intended to record onto my body, my mind, & my heart, her story of pain and suffering at losing everything to multiple wars by Greedy people and her hope for worldwide peace. My grandma told me, “When you grow up--study the minds of those who created wars, to heal, not to kill them. I want NO more blood.”
My grandmother asked me to heal people n stop wars without shedding a drop of blood and bring worldwide peace. She told me, "War is our enemy, not human". I made my promise to my grandma, but I forgot all about it until I had the rupture! Now, I remember one by one.
My grandmother’s name is HongChun Yi, meaning ‘Spreading springtime all over’.
Yes, I may not be realistic. I may not see what i want to see in my physical time here. But, this is only I can do and I do my best everyday. I will do it until I end my physical time here and will come back as different form of the living force.
I stand in solidarity with our grandmothers who have lived in hope through much violence and wars. I have a dream of stopping all wars without shedding a drop of blood! I have a dream of closing all the weapon companies ASAP! I have a dream of bringing worldwide peace! I have a dream of honoring and singing all innocent dead souls who died from greed-incited violence! I have a dream of making YOU to find YOUR BEAUTY-FUL heart from hidden in YOU!
I will keep doing and keep coming back!
Sally: THANK YOU, YOONOK-- AS I SAID BEFORE,YOU ARE A VERY BRAVE LADY- NOW I CAN SEE WHY- YOU WERE TAUGHT BY YOUR GRANMOTHER TO NEVER TO LET YOUR INNER LIGHT OF FAITH IN HUMAN GOODNESS EVER DIE-SHE MUST HAVE BEEN A VERY SPECIAL PERSON, LIKE DR ...KING---IAM NOT PRACTICAL EITHER, BUT PEACE IS MORE PRACTICAL AND LIFE SUSTAINING THAN WAR- MAY I STAND BESIDE YOU IN SOLIDARITY WITH ALL THE ELDERS, OR GRANMDMOTHERS, WHO HAVE GIVEN SO MUCH THAT OUR WORLD AND OUR CHILDRENS WORLD WILL FREE OF WAR?-I WOULD BE HONORED TO DO SO-- I PRAY THAT EVERY SOUL ON THE PLANET FINDS THEIR OWN HIDDEN INNNER BEAUTY-PERHAPS THEN THE GREED THAT BLOCKED THIS GOODNESS WILL PASS AWAY- AS WE SING FOR THE SOULS WHO LOST THEIR LIVES TO GREED, I CAN ONLY ADD TO THIS PRAYER THAT NO MORE WILL BE SACRIFICED AND THAT MANKIND WILL LEARN TO SHARE AND CARE FOR EACH OTHER, WITH SINCERE ACCEPTANCE OF EACH OTHER`S DIFFERENCES-- IF I PRAY FOR THE DEATH OF ANYTHING, IT WOULD BE THE DEATH OF THE GREED THAT IS PRESENTLY DESTROYTING MANKIND- MAY THIS CHANGE START NOW! BLESSINGS TO YOU AND YOURS-SALLY
Scott: Right...

Hi, Sol!
I loved your blog! It's very diverse, not only about handmade arts. Well, a nation should keep peace inside its boundaries first. That's already a lot of work for an entire life, I guess.
