E-COX BAND LIVE!

Lynne Gabriel

"I was thinking of the movie The Lion King this morning and I remember the words of Timon and Pumbaa to Simba when they were telling him to forget this troubled past and live in the present: "Hakuna Matata! It means 'no worries,' for the rest of your days." :) Lay down your worries today! Pastor Joel Osteen would always say, it takes the same energy to think positively as it is to worry!"

Wealth, Success or Love?

A woman was watering the garden of her house and saw three elderly with their years of experience in front of her garden.
Although she had never met them before, she invited them to come in and have a meal because she believed they were hungry, so she said "Please come into my house so that you can eat something."
They asked her if the man of the house was at home and she said "No, he is not."
"So, we can not get in." they said.
When her husband arrived in that evening, she told him what happened.
The husband said "Then go there now and tell them that I have arrived and invite them to come in."
Promptly, the woman went out and invited the men to come into her home.
"We can not enter your house all three together" said the elders.
"Why?" she wondered.
One man pointed to another of his friends and said "His name is Wealth.", then he pointed to another "His name is Success and I call Love. Go into the house and decide with your husband which one of us, you want to invite to get into your house."
The woman went home and told her husband what they had told her.
The man was delighted and replied "Good! Since this is so, let us invite Wealth, which should enter and fill our home."
The wife did not agree and said "Honey, why we do not invite Success?"
Their daughter was listening to everything and came running to say "Wouldn't it be better to invite Love? Our home would then be filled with love."
"Let's listen to the advice of our daughter" said the husband to his wife. "Go out and invite Love to be our guest."
The wife came out and asked them "Which of you is Love? Please, come in and be our guest."
Love sat on his chair and began advancing towards the house.
The other two also got up and followed him.
Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success "I only invited Love, why are you coming too?"
The men replied together "If you had invited Wealth or Success in, the other two would stay out here, but since you invited Love, wherever he goes, we will go with him because where there is love there is also wealth and success."

Be like a Sunflower

Our eyes are selective, we focus on "what we see and fail to see the rest.

CHOOSE THE SIDE FOCUS BETTER, MORE BEAUTIFUL, MORE VIBRANT THINGS, like a sunflower always chooses to be facing the sun!

Have you noticed how easy it is to get discouraged?

"I'm disappointed that it's raining, because I have an account to pay, because I have money or looks exactly what I like to have, because I have not been valued, because I have not found the love of my life because the person who does not want want me, because ... because ... "

Of course there are times that we are not well.

But our attitude should be to try a dish that, when possible, take the bright side of life.

In nature, we have an antenna that is so: the sunflower.

The sunflower turns to where the sun is, even though the sun is hidden behind a cloud.

We have to be, learning to highlight the good things we receive.

Learning to enlarge small positive gestures and turn them into great events.

We have to train to be sunflower, seeking the sun, vitality, strength, beauty.

Why do not we prepare to travel, not for life, which is a trip?

Appreciate the deep love that someone, at a given moment, directs you.

Enjoy a bright smile of joy to someone you like.

Enjoy a friendly word that comes to sound soothing, refreshing.

Enjoy the festivity, joy, laughter.

And when we were getting back grumpy, sad, discouraged, angry, that we remind ourselves again that we are sunflowers.

Select the best of this world, appreciate all that is beautiful and good in him and hold it inside you.

IS THIS THE SECRET OF WHO CAN KEEP A HIGH DEGREE OF INTERNAL VITALITY.

10 Tips for Writing Emails

By Alvah Parker: "This article was written because this past week I have seen three examples of emails that were read by people other than the intended recipient. In one case an attorney published a whole email exchange between the attorney and an applicant for an associate position in her firm. It... should have embarrassed them both and was the subject of a lot of web conversation. In the other two instances I received a group email that was intended for only one person to read. One was harmless but the other made some really derogatory comments about a class that a member of the group was planning to give. The member whose class it was said that she was shocked. So was I. The sender of the email made a public apology and said in her confusion she sent the email to the list that was intended for someone not on the list. How embarrassing for everyone!" Realizing That Change Is the Only Constant

By Hans Hulm "It sometimes makes you wonder why we go into great lengths to make life difficult for ourselves. Why do we always create life that is more complicated than it should be? We do not see the fact that each one of us needs to find his own path in personal involvement and we should strive to become the be...st we can be. But how exactly can we achieve this goal? Simple. It can be done through change." (Full article at http://networkedblogs.com/87PhO#)

The cracked pot

An old woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck.
One of the pots was cracked and the other was perfect.
The latter was always full of water after the long walk from the stream to the house, while he cracked pot arrived only half empty.
For a long time the thing went on well with the lady who came home with only one and a half pots of water.
Of course, the perfect pot was proud of the result itself and the poor cracked pot was ashamed of his defect, could only do half what he should do.
After two years, reflecting on his own bitter defeat to be 'split', the vessel spoke with you along the way:
"I am ashamed of myself because this crack in my side causes lose half the water along the way to your house ..."
The old woman smiled,
"Did you notice the beautiful flowers were sown on your side? I've always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on the roadside on your side ... And every day while we walk back, you water them. For two years, pick beautiful flowers to decorate the table of the home. If you were not as you are, I would not have these wonders gracing my home. Each of us has our own faults, but the defect that each of us has, is what makes our lives together so interesting and rewarding. We must take each person for what it is ... And find out what it's good. So my 'defective' friend, have a nice day and keep watering the flowers on your side of the road. "

We must accept people as they are, trying to see in them what are their best.

Interior Design: Feng Shui Tips For Your Home

Most people think of Feng Shui in terms of a system of religious rituals to safeguard their property. It is that, of course, but it is also considered more than that.

Basically, Feng Shui is based on the ancient Chinese belief that the power of natural forces, called ‘chi’, can be harnessed to act favorably on any kind of property.

Proper use of its prescribed techniques, it is believed, can foster physical and spiritual well-being, success, happiness and other positive aspects of life amongst a property’s occupants. The actual name, loosely translated, means ‘Wind’ and ‘Water’ – the two elements most influential in the presence or absence of harmony.

Feng Shui practitioners undergo an intensive learning process before being able to advise others on the correct use of its techniques. However, the baseline precept is that every room of one’s home has a special significance, and therefore special guidelines.

WHAT IS THE PRIDE IN RELATIONSHIPS

The proud are not willing to improve because you think you do not need it.
"Who is proud to devour itself." (William Shakespeare)
Proverbs 13:10 "Pride only brings strife."
Often do not realize how pride destroys relationships, but the Bible says that pride causes at least four problems in relationships and we'll check it now:

1. Pride produces disagreements
When I think I know everything, do not need to listen more to anyone, for it created misunderstandings.
Have you ever heard someone say that love is blind? Love is not blind. Pride is who is blind.

2. Pride leads to arguments
Mohammed Ali was traveling by plane, when he was world champion boxer, heavyweight. He argued with the flight attendant because she asked him to tighten the belt. He said, "Superman do not need a belt". So the stewardess said, "But Superman needs no airplane."
Pride has caused intrigue in the family of David, Joseph
Pride goeth before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18

3. Pride prevents intimacy
You can not be intimate with a person proud. They build walls around them.
The fear that you know who I am and so I reject prevented me from being intimate with you.
Humility creates intimacy, pride destroys it.

4. Pride postpones reconciliation
When there is something wrong in relationships, pay attention if pride is not the main cause.
Mark Twain said, "What causes problems in temperament, but pride makes us cling to it."
Shoot well: pride destroys relationships!

REMEDY AGAINST Selfishness: Accept your humanity

"Pride is concerned with WHO is right.
Humility is concerned with WHAT is right. "Ezra Taft Benson
Admit it: I'm not perfect. We all have faults and defects. We do foolish things, make mistakes.
The Bible says: "There is none righteous, no not one" Romans 3:10
We are frail human beings.
Recognize God's Grace: Everything you have you owe to God.
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights ..." James 1:17
Conclusion: The Bible tells us that pride causes trouble.
Pride makes angels into devils.
"Pride divides men, humility unites them."
(Henri Lacordaire)

The best combat this dangerous defect is to acquire humility, which is when we place equal under God and our brothers. Humility is a virtue that leads the individual aware of their limitations. The humble do not let flattery or praise for the outstanding situation where you are.
Pride destroys the good qualities of spirit, humility helps rebuild ...
The practice of humility is when we seek in ourselves the faults we see in others, to learn everything and everyone that is around us.
We must question our daily acts, checking if they are beneficial or detrimental, and thus reach an important conclusion: to always use a law behavior given by Jesus.
She says: "Do to others what would that make you the next.
With this practice, we will always put in the place of the person who will get our act or our words.
If we like what we hear or feel, we are doing good.
If we do not like, for sure we will be doing evil, and therefore will receive the consequence.
"Silence is sometimes the greatest pride that can be shown." Bjørnstjerne Bjornson
"Be humble to avoid pride, but it soars to attain wisdom." (St. Augustine)
"The wise man is ashamed of his faults, but is not ashamed to correct them." (Confucius)
I do not know ... If life is too short or too long for us,
But I know nothing about what we experience is meaningless unless we touch people's hearts.

God gave the letters: how to play them is YOUR problem.

DO NOT EXPECT!

Do not expect a smile to be nice
Do not expect love to be loved
Do not expect to be alone in recognizing the value of who is on your side
Do not expect the best job to start work
Do not expect the fall to remember the advice;
Do not wait ...
Do not expect the disease to realize how fragile life is;
Do not wait for perfect people then fall;
Do not expect the hurt to ask for forgiveness;
Do not expect the separation to seek reconciliation;
Do not expect the pain to believe in prayer;
Do not expect praise for believing in yourself;
Do not wait.
Do not expect others to take the initiative if you were the culprit;
Do not wait for I love to say I too;
Do not expect the day of his death to begin to love life;
So what are you waiting for?
DO NOT WAIT: Love life and be happy, TODAY!
(from Sandra Mendes on Hotmail)

Life always charge our attitudes: the law of return is inevitable.

Life always charge our attitudes: the law of return is inevitable.

And often, she makes us pay twice.
The small Zeca comes home after class, pounding their feet on the House floor.
His father, who was going to the backyard to do some service in the garden to see what the boy calls for a conversation. Zeca, eight years old, came suspiciously. Before his father could say anything, angry speech "Father, I am very angry. The Joey should not have done that to me. I wish anything bad for him."
His father, a simple man but full of wisdom, listening quietly to his son continues to complain:
"The Joey humiliated me in front of my friends. Not accepted. I would like him to get sick without being able to go to school."
The father hears everything quiet as you walk into a shelter where she kept a bag of coal. He took the bag to the back yard and the boy followed him, silent. Zeca sees the bag be opened and before he could even ask a question, the father offers you something.
"Son, is the fact that this bright white shirt that is drying on the clothesline is his buddy Joey and every piece of coal is a bad thought his, addressed to him. I want you to play the whole bag of coal on the shirt until the last piece. Then I come back to see it.'
The boy thought it would be a fun game and went to work. The clothesline with the boy's shirt was far and few pieces hit the jackpot. An hour passed and the boy finished the task. The father who watched it from afar, approached the boy and asks him:
"Son, how are you feeling now?"
"I'm tired but I'm happy because I hit many lumps of coal on the shirt."
The father looks at the boy, who does not understand the reason for that joke, and loving it says:
"Come with me to my room, I want to show you something."
The son follows his father into the room and is placed in front of a large mirror where you can see his whole body. What a shock! Zeca could only see his teeth and eyes. The father then tells him dearly:
"Son, you saw that the shirt barely fouled, but look at you. The evil that we desire or the other is like what happened to him. As much as we can disrupt someone's life with our thoughts, sludge, waste, soot are always in ourselves."
Watch your thoughts: they become words;
Watch your words: they become actions;
Watch your actions: they become habits;
Watch your habits: they shape your character;
Watch your character: he controls your destiny.
The wisdom of the father used the analogy with coal to explain the law of return.
Everything you do in life, at one point back to you.
So often we cling to "hurt" and we were mulling over "hate", without realizing how it hurt ourselves!
This is a tough lesson that is learned through much suffering ...
Every time we do, or just want the evil to someone this bad back, and usually with a much larger force.
So just come to the conclusion true: to forgive is divine.
"Running away from a problem today, no longer face it, is bound to extend a battle in which you may be unprepared to face his opponent in the near future, and further, may be in a land you do not know"
MAKE YOUR CHOICE - SEE WHAT SAYS THE PROVERB:
A man walking through a valley of the French Pyrenees, when he met an old shepherd.
Shared with him his food, and stayed a long time talking about life.
At one point, the subject began to revolve around the existence of God.
"If I believe in God", said the man, "I must also accept that I am not free, and nothing I do is my responsibility."
Because people say he is omnipotent and knows the present, past and future.
The pastor began to sing.
As they were in a mountain gorge, and the music echoed softly filled the valley.
Suddenly the music stopped, pastor, and began to curse everything and everyone.
The screams of the pastor also reflected in the mountains, and returned to where they met.
"Life is this valley, the mountains are the conscience of the Lord, and the voice of man is your destination", the pastor said.
"We are free to sing or speak evil, but whatever we do, will be brought to him, and will be returned in the same way."
"God is the echo of our actions."
(from Sandra Mendes on Hotmail)

I learned ...

I learned ...

... That money does not buy class ";
... That being kind is more important than being right;
... I can always say a prayer for someone when I do not have the strength to help him in any other manner;
... That no matter how serious your life requires you to each one of us needs a friend to act goofy together;
... That sometimes all you need is a hand to hold and a heart to understand;
... We should be glad God does not give us everything we ask;
... That under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved;
... That God did not do everything in one day what makes me think I can?
... That to ignore the facts does not change;
... That the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself with people smarter than I;
... That every person we know to be greeted with a smile;
... No one is perfect until you fall in love with that person;
... That life is tough, but I'm tougher
... That should keep his words sweet and tender, because tomorrow he may have to eat them;
... That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your appearance;
... That the less time I have, the more things I can do.
Admittedly, after all, that nothing in this world makes it necessary not to be love.
